Allison pens down an emotional letter

New Liverpool signing Alisson has sent a message to fans after sealing his move to Anfield.

After days of speculation, Alisson has finally completed his move to Liverpool.

The Reds have signed the shot-stopper for a world record fee worth up to £66.8million from Roma.

“In terms of my life and my career, it’s a huge step for me being part of this club and this family,” the 25-year-old said after putting pen-to-paper on a six-year deal.

Following his long-awaited announcement late on Thursday evening, Alisson sent a message to his new fans at Liverpool.

“Hi Liverpool fans, Alisson Becker here,” he said while standing out on the training pitches at Melwood.

“I’m very very happy to be here with you guys and I can’t wait to be with you at Anfield. You’ll never walk alone!”

During his first interview with the club, Alisson assured supporters he would give everything during his time on the pitch.

“My message to everyone is that I’m really happy to be part of this team and this family,” he said.

Alisson began his career at Internacional, where he made over 100 appearances and won the Campeonato Gaúcho in each of his four seasons at the club. In 2016, he completed a €7.5 million transfer to Roma where he initially served as understudy to Wojciech Szczęsny before breaking into the starting line-up. In July 2018, Alisson signed for Liverpool for a fee of €72.5 million (£66.8m), a world record transfer fee for a goalkeeper.

Alisson represented Brazil at various youth levels before making his senior international debut in 2015 whereafter he represented the nation at the Copa América Centenario in 2016 and the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Alisson officially completed his transfer to Italian Serie A side Roma in July 2016. He made his debut for the club on 17 August 2016, starting in a 1–1 UEFA Champions League draw with FC Porto, but spent the majority of the season as understudy to Polish international Wojciech Szczęsny.  He ultimately made 15 appearances across all competitions from the season but failed to feature in any league fixtures. Szczęsny departed at the start of the following campaign for Juventus, which saw Alisson assume the number one jersey. He later revealed that he would have considered leaving Roma had he not been guaranteed more first-team football.

Alisson finally made his Serie A debut on the opening weekend of the 2017–18 Serie Acampaign, starting in a 1–0 win over Atalanta.  He then made his first appearance in the Derby della Capitale on 18 November, starting in a 2–1 win over local rivals Lazio.  He was praised for his performances in the UEFA Champions League, and played a key role in the club’s campaign in which they reached the semi-finals. The club didn’t concede a single goal at the Stadio Olimpico in the Champions League, until the match against Liverpool in the semi-finals on 2 May 2018, which they won 4–2 on the night, but lost 7–6 on aggregate.[19] Alisson received praise for his performances throughout the 2017–18.

After representing Brazil at under-17 and under-20levels, Alisson was called up to the main squad by manager Dunga for the first two matches of the 2018 World Cup qualification campaign against Chile and Venezuela.

On 5 May 2016, Alisson was named to Brazil’s 23-man squad for the Copa América Centenario. In the team’s first match, a goalless draw against Ecuador, he fumbled a Miller Bolaños shot into his own goal that was waved off because the ball had gone out of play beforehand.  He conceded a total of two goals in three matches as Brazil were eliminated in the group stage.

In May 2018, Alisson was named in Brazil manager Tite’s 23-man squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia
