Will Oblak leave Atletico Madrid?

Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo said he is not worried about speculation over the future of reported Liverpool target Jan Oblak. Antoine Griezmann, Koke and Saul have all signed new contracts in recent years, but Oblak has not had a pay rise since joining from Benfica in 2014 and said in May after the Europa League final win that his future “does not depend on” himself.

Cerezo told Onda Cero’s “El Transistor” radio show that he was unaware of any possibility of Oblak leaving this summer. As far as I know, nobody is touching my goalkeeper,” Cerezo said. “We have everything under control and we are sure of having a great squad for a long time.”

A busy summer has already seen Atletico agree a €70 million deal with Monaco for winger Thomas Lemar, re-sign midfielder Rodri Hernandez from Villarreal for €20m and pick up goalkeeper Antonio Adan from Real Betis for around €1m. AS reported Atletico are close to deals for Sporting Lisbon winger Gelson Martins and Milan forward Nikola Kalinic, with forward Kevin Gameiro potentially moving to Valencia, and right-back Sime Vrsaljko of interest to Inter Milan and Napoli.
