, Kenyan netizens criticised the MPs and senators who flew to Moscow, in a benchmarking activity, which they (legislators) claimed was in the interest of sports in Kenya. Sports CS Rashid Echesa had claimed only six MPs had been authorised by the sports committee to fly out and learn how such big sporting events are conducted. Some of the legislators who traveled to watch the World Cup are: Senators James Orengo, Cleophas Malala and Millicent Omanga as well as members of the National Assembly including Mohammed Ali alias Jicho Pevu and David Gikaria.
