Real Madrid to improve offer for Chelsea talisman

Chelsea have reportedly snubbed a £107million Eden Hazard bid from Real Madrid and are braced for another offer. The Belgian superstar’s World Cup performances – and claim it is time for a new challenge – have increased the chances of a Bernabeu switch. And Italian site Calciomercato insists Los Blancos have already had an offer rejected by Stamford Bridge chiefs.

Hazard, 27, is enjoying a post-tournament break with pals in Marbella as his future remains up in the air. And Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Juventus has seen the Champions League winners step up interest in their long-term target. After beating England in the third-place play-off, Hazard admitted: “I will go on holiday and ask myself the right questions. After six wonderful years at Chelsea, it might be time to discover something different.”

Red Devils boss Roberto Martinez agreed with his talisman that his six-year spell at Chelsea may be long enough. He added: “Players need new challenges and new projects. “Perhaps it’s a good time for [Chelsea] and for Hazard [to split]. I would be very surprised if Chelsea didn’t have big offers for him right now. “It could be the best time [for Hazard] to try something different. He is a player who has maturity and a lot of leadership. His play is based on talent.
“Hazard could carry a new project anywhere in the world. He is at the best moment of his career. He could fit in any team in the world.”
