Premier League defenders beware – Kevin De Bruyne will have even silkier footwork next season. The Manchester City midfielder has propelled himself to be one of the world’s finest footballers, and it looks like he is going to get even better.
That’s because of the tools he has been given. The Belgian star will be wearing Nike PhantomVSN boots next season. And the secret weapon? The footwear comes with ‘ghost laces’. Ok, so what that essentially means is that the laces are hidden, but sporting giants Nike believes that is vital for getting the perfect connection on the ball.
As well as De Bruyne, who had a fine World Cup campaign with Belgium, Nike chose Barcelona and Brazil superstar Philippe Coutinho to show off the new boot design.
