Coutinho models for new boots with ‘invisible Laces’

Nike chose Barcelona and Brazil superstar Philippe Coutinho to show off the new Nike PhantomVSN boots. The Brazilian star will be wearing the boots next season. And the secret weapon? The footwear comes with ‘ghost laces’. Ok, so what that essentially means is that the laces are hidden, but sporting giants Nike believes that is vital for getting the perfect connection on the ball. Phantom designer Phil Woodman said: “Nike Football unveils a brand-new boot silo, PhantomVSN – designed for deadly precision and set to be worn by a host of the world’s top players.

“A Phantom player is “a battler who has mastered the art of navigating tight spaces while possessing the vision for attack lanes others may not see.”
PhantomVSN will apparently “remove the need for athletes to break in their boots”.
This construction is a brand new innovation called Quadfit; a mesh boot that conforms to fit any foot and will not overstretch, containing the foot without constricting it.
The Nike release stated that the design was “conceived from the inside out”, and that “this entirely new construction will soon be adopted in other categories of Nike performance footwear.”
