Chelsea and CSKA Moscow agree fee for Golovin

Chelsea and CSKA Moscow have agreed a fee for Aleksandr Golovin with the player set to become Maurizio Sarri’s second summer addition, according to report. The World Cup 2018 star is understood to have rejected offers from both AS Monaco and Juventus in favour of a move to Stamford Bridge. Golovin was one of the breakout stars in Russia this summer helping guide the hosts to an unexpected quarter-final finish having been directly involved in three goals.

Having only arrived in West London on Saturday, Sarri has moved quickly to make two new additions with Golovin looking set to join Jorginho by arriving at Stamford Bridge this summer. The 22-year-old has made a huge impression across the continent in 2018 with his performances in the Europa League and the World Cup catching the eye of many big clubs.

The Bianconeri were the club who were keen on landing the Russian forward this summer, however, following the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo, they decided to bring an end their pursuit. Former Ligue 1 champions Monaco also made Golovin an offer to join this summer, but the player has instead opted to play in the Premier League next season with Chelsea. The player is now expected to sign a five-year contract with Chelsea and could undergo a medical in London today.
