France defender Benjamin Pavard will be on Tottenham’s short-list to replace Toby Alderweireld.
The Stuttgart man has shone for Didier Deschamps during this World Cup, and will offer Mauricio Pochettino an option if, as is widely anticipated, Alderweireld moves onin the next few weeks.
Pavard has been played at right-back by Sunday’s World Cup finalists, and scored one of the goals of the tournament from there in Les Bleus’ last-16 win over Argentina, but he is better known in the Bundesliga as a centre-half.
