World Cup winner Lothar Matthaus is yet to believe that France era of dominating World football is now. France won their second ever World Cup trophy after beating Croatia 4-2 but Matthaus was not convinced with how the Les Bleus performed in Russia.Many were of the view that France will now start dominating football in years to come but Matthaus in his Bild piece of opinion disagreed.
”I do not believe that the French will establish an era. The team did not adopt any style or convince with fascinating football. They did not push their opponents to the edge.” he wrote.Thibault Courtois had claimed that France played “anti-football” during the semi-final, while Croatia’s Dejan Lovren said they “did not play football” during the finals.in Sunday’s showpiece.
