Inter favourites to sign Brazilian winger over Tottenham

Tottenham look set to miss out on the signing of Bordeaux winger Malcom with Inter leading the chase for his signature, according to reports.  Mauricio Pochettino wants to bolster his offensive options this summer and has already been linked with moves for Crystal Palace ace Wilfried Zaha and Manchester United outcast Anthony Martial.

Tottenham are struggling to nail down a first choice target due to excessive valuations and the fact direct Premier League rivals are not interested in entertaining talks. The north London outfit have earmarked Malcom as a top transfer target as a result but face further disappointment with Inter closing in on an initial season-long loan deal.

Malcom was a revelation for Bordeaux at the start of last season and came close to joining Arsenal in a sensational January move before the Gunners ended up signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan from United. Inter have tabled an £8.8m loan fee with an option to make Malcom’s stay permanent for further £26.5m, leaving Tottenham facing the prospect of missing out on a top transfer target.

Malcom played a direct hand in 19 goals in 35 league appearances for Bordeaux last season (12 goals, seven assists), picking up the WhoScored Man of the Match award on eight occasions.
