Two Nigerian stars score five goals in Europa match win

Two Nigerian players of Adeleke Akinyemi and Tosin Aiyegun scored all the goals for Ventspils in a 5-0 win over Luftetari on Thursday night in the first leg of their UEFA Europa League first qualifying round encounter. The 19-year-old striker Akinyemi notching in a double brace while his fellow compatriot Aiyegun find back of the net on one occasion in the tie as it took their Latvian club a huge advantage into the return leg next week.Akinyemi opened the floodgate for Ventspils just eight minutes into the match as the Nigerian convert from a spot and extend their lead four minutes later as fellow countryman provided the assist.

The goal poacher completed his hat-trick in the 24th minute but Aiyegun scored Ventspils’ fourth goal from the penalty spot in the 37th minute. However, two minutes before the end of the first half Akinyemi get his fourth goals of the day to take his tally 12 goals from 15 games in the club since his arrival in March 2017, Ventspils travel to Albania next week for the second leg tie on Thursday night with the winners on aggregate advancing to the second qualifying round.
