Karius blunders again

Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius once again made goalkeeping mistake as his side held on to beat Tranmere 3-2 on Tuesday.

The Reds made it two wins in a row after they kicked off their pre-season on Saturday. Rafael Camacho, Sheyi Ojo, and Adam Lallan grabbed a goal each before the break at Prenton Park. In the second half, Karius was introduced and was beaten twice as the hosts battled back into the game with the 25-year-old at fault for the first of their goals.

The Germany international, who also made two awful mistakes in the Champions League final against Real Madrid, spilled Ollie Norburn’s free-kick and Jonny Smith scored on the rebound. The League Two side pulled the second goal through Amadou Soukouna but Liverpool held on to register their second successive win to follow up a 7-0 friendly win over Chester on Saturday.

Ahead of that match, Jurgen Klopp said Karius was “100 percent” influenced by the concussion after a collision with Madrid captain Sergio Ramos during the Champions League final.
