Everton are continuing talks with Barcelona over a proposed move for Colombia defender Yerry Mina. Yerry Fernando Mina González is a Colombian professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Spanish club Barcelona and the Colombia national team.
The 6ft 5in centre back made an impact in the World Cup scoring against England in their volatile encounter and Marco Silva wants him as part of a new look defence. Everton had hoped to take him on a season loan but Barcelona are looking for a fee to offset the money they wish to spend on Sevilla’s Clement Lenglet.
Everton are reluctant to pay over the odds in the market as they look to recoup some of the money they spent last summer to little avail. They have already cut short talks for Celtic’s Kieran Tierney over the £25million asking price and are examining other targets. Everton are currently preparing for the new season in Austria.
