England keeper praised

Jordan Pickford saves at World cup has been praised by Mexico legend Jorge Campos.

The Everton keeper made a string of saves mostly against Sweden in the quarter-finals and is in contention to continue with goalkeeping duties against Croatia in the semis. England is looking to reach the finals for the first time in 52 years.

Campos featured for Mexico in both 1990 and 1994 World Cups has praised Pickford who is making his maiden appearance on the World stage.

“Talking about the best goalkeepers there are some, like the English one [Pickford]. He made some saves that are rarely seen and those are the ones that allow you to progress in the tournament. Some others did so well in the quarter-finals. I saw the match of Belgium [against Brazil] and the balls that the goalkeeper [Thibaut Courtois] saved in the last moments. Also, the French one [Hugo Lloris] did well.” he told reporters.

The semis will be played at Luzhniki Stadium at 9:00 pm
