Samuel Umtiti scored the only goal of the match from a set-piece, and this determined the result of the match with the individual quality within either team’s forward lines unable to make the difference.
“The match was very close and it was decided on a small detail,” explained Martinez in his post-match interview. It’s terrible for us to lose from a goal at a corner kick. The attitude of the players was excellent, and that’s what we have to remember, they gave everything until the last second.”
