Another Dortmund player sign for London club

West Ham United have confirmed the signing of Ukrainian winger Andriy Yarmolenko from Borussia Dortmund. Andriy Mykolayovych Yarmolenko is a Ukrainian football winger or forward who currently plays for West Ham United in the Premier League and the Ukraine national team.

The 28-year-old has put pen to paper on a four-year deal at the London Stadium. A deal was concluded after the player’s agent, Shbalii Vadim, travelled to the Hammers’ Switzerland pre-season training base to finalise terms. ‘West Ham is a big club with good fans and I am happy to come to play in the Premier League,’ the player told then club website upon his arrival.

Dortmund also took to their social media outlets to confirm the deal, while wishing the player good luck for his future endeavors in the Premier League. Yarmolenko stands as the fifth signing in what has already been a busy summer for the east London club, with new manager Manuel Pellgerini looking to overhaul his squad. Ryan Fredericks, Issa Dip, Lukasz Fabianksi and Jack Wilshere have already arrived at the London Stadium in recent weeks.

Yarmolenko only joined Dortmund last summer in a deal worth £23million, following his departure from Dynamo Kiev. The Hammers also recently had a £25m bid rejected from Newcastle for their captain Jamaal Lascelles. The Magpies have stood firm on their stance that the defender would not be sold, despite widespread interest.
