Chelsea dealt transfer blow as target wants to remain at club

Robert Lewandowski has decided to reject the advances of a host of Europe’s top clubs to stay at Bayern Munich this summer, according to a new report. German newspaper Bild claim the Poland striker has had a change of heart about leaving the Bundesliga champions and wants to remain at the Allianz Arena.

Lewandowski was a target for Real Madrid, while Chelsea, Juventus, Barcelona and Manchester United are among the clubs to have been credited with an interest. Lewandowski’s new agent, Pini Zahavi, told Bild last month: ‘Robert feels that he needs a change and a new challenge in his career.’

But that no longer appears to be the case, with the 29-year-old now expected to commit his future to the club he joined from Borussia Dortmund in 2014. Lewandowski took to Instagram on Tuesday to share a picture of himself with a towel draped around his neck following a workout at home.
