Alexis Sanchez has touched down in Manchester ready to get stuck into pre-season action with the Red Devils as soon as possible. Alexis Alejandro Sánchez Sánchez, also known simply as Alexis, is a Chilean professional footballer who plays as a forward for the English club Manchester United and the Chile national team.
The forward has spent the summer relaxing and recooperating, and was afforded time off from football after his nation failed to make the Russia World Cup. Chile’s absence meant the forward could reflect upon what was a hectic 2017/18 campaign, which began at Arsenal but finished with Jose Mourinho’s men.
Sanchez was pictured this week alongside his agent Ruben Inostroza Povea in a private jet, beaming widely as the duo touched down in north west England. Uploading the image to Instagram, his agent simply wrote: ‘Ready for the new season.’ Sanchez sealed a January switch to Old Trafford from Arsenal, despite initially being heavily tipped to link up with Pep Guardiola at City.
After arriving to high acclaim and much anticipation, Sanchez saw a slow start to life in a United shirt, after struggling to adapt to Mourinho’s system and slotting in around the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba. In his 12 Premier League appearances for United last season, Sanchez hit the back of the net twice and created a total of 24 chances. Making the most of a summer without football, Sanchez has been spending the past few weeks in warmer climbs.
