Chelsea still likely to sell highly rated star

Chelsea are yet to make a decision on whether or not they will keep Thibaut Courtois according to Belgium reporter Kristof Terreur.

The Blues are facing a battle to keep the Belgian shot stopper amid reported interest from La Liga giants Real Madrid.

Chelsea FC have been unable to tie down Courtois to a new contract with the goalkeeper set to become a free agent next summer.

Courtois has his ex-wife and two children win Madrid to fuel speculation that the Belgium international could return to the Spanish capital.

The Belgian goalkeeper spent three seasons on loan at Atletico Madrid before he returned to Chelsea FC become their number one.

Belgian football expert Terreur believes there is a good chance that Chelsea FC could sell Courtois in the summer transfer window.

“If he doesn’t sign a new deal, I think Chelsea will try to sell him,” Terreur told the Transfer Talk podcast.

“There aren’t many clubs who need a goalkeeper of his calibre and can afford his wages.”

Chelsea FC finished in fifth place in the Premier League table to miss out on a spot in the Champions League.
