Matteo, Arsenal next signing of the summer?

Arsenal are in talks to sign Lorient youngster Matteo Guendouzi this summer.The Gunners are looking to strengthen their new look side as they begin life under Unai Emery.The Spaniard is keen to bring a wealth of young, promising talent to north London to bolster the club’s academy and youth sides Emery missed out on PSG starlet Yacine Adli, who decided to stay at the Ligue 1 outfit this summer.But fellow French youngster Guendouzi appears to be nearing a move to Arsenal.

According to reports, the Gunners are in talks with Lorient over a deal for the 19-year-old. Guendouzi came through PSG’s youth system before switching to Lorient in 2014.The youngster broke into the senior side in 2016, featuring nine times as the club were relegated.Guendouzi also played 20 times last season, which saw him attract interest from Tottenham in the January transfer window Arsenal have already strengthened this summer with the arrivals of Bernd Leno, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Stephan Lichtsteiner and youngster Joel Lopez from Barcelona.But Ivan Gazidis has promised Emery more business will be conducted before next month’s transfer window.”Unai has been in the thick of that process in terms of what we need in the squad, we’ve signed two new players so far this summer and there will be more to come.”
