Nico Gonzalez is set to move to Manchester United after his Barcelona contract expired. The 16-year-old wonder kid is considering his options but Sport report that United are best placed to snap him up. Barcelona are highly concerned about the alarming rate that their talent is leaving the famed La Masia academy.
The club believed they were in control of the situation as they offered him a place in their Juvenil A team next season. This is something the player asked for so he could compete in the UEFA Youth League and skip a year with the Juvenil B side. However, everything has changed in the last few weeks. When an agreement was in place for Nico to sign, the doubts began to stack up as did the demands from the player.
Should Gonzalez opt to move to England, he would be the fifth youth product to snub a future at the Nou Camp for elsewhere after Pablo Moreno, Robert Navarro, Adrià Bernabé and Joel López.
