Arsenal are on the verge of signing Lucas Torreira after agreeing a fee with Sampdoria. Claims say the ace will arrive in North London next week after crashing out of the World Cup with Uruguay, and the player himself appears to have confirmed the news speaking to journalists today.
It’s said that Sampdoria have accepted a fee from Arsenal for Torreira, who has a £22.5million release clause in his contract. The 22-year-old will now jet to London from Russia after Uruguay’s World Cup quarter-final defeat to France.
And once he undergoes a medical, Torreira should be unveiled as a Gunner early next week. Arsenal have already signed three players and it’s added that Torreira will be Emery’s final first-team signing of the summer.
