Klopp keen on signing Switzerland speedstar

Liverpool have made two signings so far this summer, with Fabinho joining from Monaco, and Naby Keita finally arriving at the club one year after the initial deal was agreed with RB Leipzig.

However, it seems that Klopp won’t leave it at that, as evidenced by a recent statement made in an interview with ‘LFCTV’.

“I am happy,” the German said when asked about his business so far this summer. “The work is going on and why should we stop until the window is done?”

The Merseyside club saw a move for Nabil Fekir fall through before the World Cup, but they have been heavily linked with Stoke’s Xherdan Shaqiri, and recent reports in the ‘Daily Mirror’ state that the midlands club could ask for a player to come the other way.

Stoke seem fairly resigned to losing Shaqiri, who has expressed his desire to continue playing top-flight football, but the relegated side may ask Liverpool to loan them a short-term replacement for the attacking midfielder as part of the deal.

The Swiss international apparently has a relegation clause of £13m, but Gary Rowett is looking for a two wingers and a defender this summer, and he could demand that a Liverpool youth player such as Sheyi Ojo or Ryan Kent join them for a season.
