Jordy Clasie to be rescued from Southampton hell by old side Feyenoord

Southampton flop Jordy Clasie is set to be thrown a career lifeline by former club Feyenoord. Saints paid the Rotterdam club £8million for the Holland midfielder in 2015.

However Clasie has fallen out of favour at St Mary’s, and spent last season on loan to Belgian champions Club Brugge. Feyenoord now want to sign the 27-year-old as a replacement for star man Karim El Ahmadi.

The former Aston Villa midfielder, 33, is leaving for Saudi Arabian club al Ittihad. Clasie has previously voiced his interest in returning to Feyenoord’s De Kuip stadium, where he spent four seasons.
