Everton alerted as Wilfried Zaha turns down new Crystal Palace contract

The south London side offered the winger a pay boost following interest from Tottenham, Everton and Borussia Dortmund. Zaha signed a five-year deal worth around £100,000-a-week just 15 months previously. The Ivorian’s nine goals played a major part in Palace securing their Premier League status last season. The Eagles are now set to make their star player another improved contract offer.
Zaha failed to make the grade at Manchester United when Sir Alex Ferguson signed him for £15m in 2013. He managed to make just two Premier League appearances before being sent on loan to Cardiff. But the 25-year-old has been a revelation in his last two seasons for the Selhurst Park side.His form has been so exceptional that the FA are disappointed he rejected representing England in favour of Ivory Coast.

Palaceareconcerned that Zaha feels the time is right for him to move to a ‘big’ club once again. Spurs are leading the race to sign Zaha, but Palacehaveput a £70m price tag on him in a bid to stave off interest.Coach Roy Hodgson and Palace have tabled £135,000-a-week deal in an attempt to ensure he stays with them.The former England manager refuted claims that Zaha is a diver after he was accused of simulation last season.
