Liverpool are delaying an approach for Stoke winger Xherdan Shaqiri, according to the Liverpool Echo.

And that could lead to Manchester United stealing a lead on the Switzerland international.

Shaqiri is free to leave relegated Stoke for £12m this summer.

Liverpool are interested but the report says Jurgen Klopp is biding his time over where to invest next in his squad.

Another push to land Nabil Fekir is on the cards, meaning United could be frontrunners for Shaqiri’s signature as the summer drags on.
