On Monday Liverpool announced the big news: Mohamed Salah has agreed a new five year deal with the club.
That contract extension is a reward for an incredible first season at Anfield. Salah scored 44 goals in all competitions.
With regard to Salah’s relationship with Liverpool, everything seems to be going brilliantly.
Yet there is the growing sense that Salah is clearly unhappy right now.
The Liverpool star have dropped several hints on social media in the past few days that everything’s not OK.
Out of the blue and without any context, Salah wrote the following in English a few days:
Some might think it’s over but it isn’t over. There needs to be change.

On Thursday Salah popped up with another tweet, which on the face of it seemed to be a nothing-burger about a hat.
But many have been quick to spot the book that Salah was holding.

So what’s going on? And why isn’t Salah being more specific?
Some have suggested that Salah’s recent tweets seem intended for the non-Egyptian community.
Could Salah be looking towards that audience due to political reasons?
Could the reason be political?
Many are now suggesting that Salah is gearing up to insist on some major changes following the World Cup.
Egypt lost all three matches in Russia. While Salah found himself at the centre of a storm after an impromptu meeting with Ramzan Kadyrov, the Chechen leader accused of human rights abuses.
Some of the explanations of what’s going on with Salah are below.
Mohamed Salah asking for change, he should be direct and say what really happened in Grozny. I think he means change of the whole system, specially at the Egyptian FA, as they recently refused all calls to quit during a press conference, they know that FIFA protects them #EGY https://t.co/M6G1hpUimp
