Argentina’s greatest ever Diego Maradona has gone on to state that he is willing to coach the national team. Not just that. He is willing to do it for free. The 1986 World Cup winner had offered this post Argentina’s round of 16 exit at the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2018.
Argentina FA is considering to get rid of Jorge Sampaoli and that could cost them a sum of £17 million. The Lionel Messi-led side had a disastrous Qualifiers campaign. Further, they were not convincing enough in Russia. Talks circulated that there was unrest in the dressing room as well. Sampaoli looked a sorry figure throughout their campaign and is likely to face the cull.
Maradona stated that seeing the Argentine team being beaten by France was one of the hardest things. He added that everything that they had built is getting destroyed easily and therefore he could lend a helping hand. He would not demand anything in return. The legendary footballer was left hurt by Argentina’s loss and stated that this was unacceptable.
