Eric Abidal has released a heartbreaking image of his cousin in hospital after claims Barcelona illegally bought him a liver.
The former France defender insists it was his cousin Gerard who donated his liver to save his life.
Abidal, 38, tweeted a picture of himself lying in a hospital bed with another patient sitting next to him.
He wrote: “With the publication of this image I want to ask respect to my cousin Gerard and defend his honour. I publicly denounce the attitude of some media that continue to question the legality of an intervention that saved my life! Stop it!”
