Divock Origi set to hit ground running upon Liverpool return

Divock Origi has vowed to hit the ground running following his return to Liverpool, having spent last season on loan with Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga. The Belgian forward was once tipped to be the next big thing at Anfield and was even ahead of Romelu Lukaku on the international scene.

That soon changed when his form and time on the pitch dipped and he was soon shipped out on loan to Wolfsburg. It wasn’t a bad campaign for the player, who netted 6 goals and assisted two goals but it isn’t a great return either having started 22 games.

Now, he’s back on the Melwood turf and looking to have an impact on the squad selection. “I am happy to be back,” Origi told Liverpool’s official website . “It feels a bit like I am familiar with everything and I never left, so it was easier for me to integrate back into the group. I’m very happy. “It was a learning season for me (with Wolfsburg).

As a team, we had a difficult season with a lot of changes, but we fought until the end and managed to stay in the league.“It was a bit of a change of scenario; I learned a lot mentally and grew a lot. I think I’ve come back more mature. I just have to keep my focus on enjoying myself on the pitch and giving everything. The next few weeks will show. The feet do the talking on the pitch, so we will see how it goes. I am positive.”
