Buffon to be presented as Paris Saint-Germain player on Monday

Former Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon will be presented as a Paris Saint-Germain player on Monday afternoon, according to reports. The Italian is understood to be set to undergo a medical in the French capital and will give the Ligue 1 champions his final decision over the move on Friday. This afternoon, Buffon landed in Bourget, Paris with his agent Silvano Martina as they look to finalise the player’s move to PSG.

The 40-year-old agreed to leave Juventus at the end of the 2017/2018 season bringing to an end his 17-year stay in Turin. He will now arrive at the Parc des Princes looking to compete with Kevin Trapp and Alphonse Areola for the number one spot at PSG. Last season, Areola was the club’s first choice keeper making 43 appearances; 29 more than Trapp who fell out of favour with former manager Unai Emery. New manager Thomas Tuchel will now have to select his number one keeper from three with Buffon now expected to be announced as a PSG player on Monday.
