Newly promoted Premier League side set to sign Serbia World Cup star

Fulham are set to sign Newcastle forward Aleksandar Mitrovic on a permanent basis by the end of July. Aleksandar Mitrović is a Serbian professional footballer who plays as a striker for Premier League club Newcastle United and the Serbia national team.

Mitrovic is currently on holiday after Serbia were knocked out of the 2018 World Cup, but a reported fee of £20 million is already said to be in place and the deal will be finalised once the Serbian returns from his holidays.

If Mitrovic does sign for £20 million it will be a record transfer for Fulham.  Mitrovic signed for current club Newcastle in 2015 from Belgium side Anderlecht for a fee in the region of £16.65 million. The forward has made 72 appearances for Newcastle, in which he has scored 17 and assisted 10.  However, Mitrovic found himself out of favour at Newcastle lasts season and was loaned out to Fulham. Mitrovic played 17 games for Fulham in the second half of the 2017/18 season and scored an impressive 12 goals in that time. A very impressive record which has lead Fulham to want to sign the Serbian on a permanent basis.
