Cristiano Ronaldo set for 100 million Euro move to Juventus

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly set to join Serie A side Juventus for a fee of just 100 million Euros. Juventus have been a dominant force in Italy for some time now. However, one prize that they have been unable to claim for over a decade is the Champions League. The Italian giants have not won the Champions League since 1996 and as a result are looking to sign top stars that can help them earn the most coveted prize in club football and there is no doubt Ronaldo would be one of those top stars. Juventus have recently given up their pursuit of Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and as a result, they have the funds available to sign Ronaldo.

Ronaldo was, until recently on international duty with Portugal for the 2018 World Cup. Portugal were drawn in Group B along with Spain, Iran and Morocco and after all of Group B’s games had been played, Portugal would finish second in the group thanks to them conceding a late penalty vs Iran due to a somewhat questionable VAR decision. As a result of finishing second Ronaldo’s Portugal had to face Group A winners Uruguay in the round of 16 last night.

However, despite finishing second, Ronaldo has been on fire for Portugal at the World Cup. In Portugal’s first group game vs Spain, Ronaldo earned Portugal a draw when Spain really should have won the game. The game finished 3-3 with Ronaldo scoring a penalty, superb free-kick and lucky goal for his hattrick. Ronaldo would also be Portugal’s hero in their second game vs Morocco when he scored the only goal of the game. But while Ronaldo shone in the group stage, he had a very quiet performance vs Uruguay and as a result, Portugal lost 2-1 and are now out of the 2018 World Cup.
