Aston Villa management structure ‘being probed by EFL chiefs

The English Football League is reportedly looking into Aston Villa’s new management structure after voicing concerns at the lack of football knowledge.

Cash-strapped Villa are now being run on a day-to-day basis by a committee of four, comprising chief commercial officer Luke Organ, finance director Ian Hopson, lawyer Victoria Wilkes and Rongtien He.

According to The Mirror, the EFL has already held two meetings with the Champions outfit’s hierarchy as it is not convinced that the quartet have the necessary credentials to run the club.

Chief executive Keith Wyness had been tasked with steadying the ship off the field during a turbulent time for the Villans, only for the 60-year-old to be suspended last month with immediate effect.

Two Americans are rumoured to be eyeing up a takeover deal after being shown around Villa’s training base earlier this week, meanwhile, amid fears of administration if they do not get their financial problems in check.
