Ronaldo finally breaks silence on Portugal future

Cristiano Ronaldo has refused to disclose whether he will continue his international career after Portugal’s exit from the 2018 World Cup.The European champions were eliminated from the tournament in Russia on Saturday at the last 16 stage as they went down 2-1 to Uruguay.

Ronaldo will be 37 when the next World Cup comes around in Qatar and, with a record 85 goals in 154 games, it would be understandable if he decided to call time on his Portugal career. But the Real Madrid superstar is not yet ready to reveal his plans “It’s not the time to talk about the future of the coach, the players, the squad,” he said.

“I’m absolutely sure this team will continue to be one of the the best in the world. We have a team of players who are ambitious. “There is a fantastic group with enormous ambition that wants to succeed and I am very confident that the national team will continue to be at the highest level.”
