Former Ireland international Richard Dunne believes that Kylian Mbappe has reached another level in his fledgling footballing career and is now showing the world what he can do.The sensational France teenager put in a man of the match performace to guide his side through to the World Cup quarter-finals, beating Argentina 4-3. Mbappe was taken down for the penalty that handed France an early lead in the contest and the PSG forward was then on hand to bag a brace to turn a drawing position into a winning one with two well-taken second-half goals.
France go on to face Uruguay for a place in the semi-finals and Dunne was full of praise for the 19-year-old following today’s performance.I think he has had enough games over the short career that he has had. He has done an awful lot and played very well in the Champions League. when you see him play, he is frightening,” said Dunne, speaking on RTE’s World Cup post-match panel following Saturday’s fixture. “He was always going to be a top player and this is his chance to show it to the world. And this is just the next level for him. This is the next progression for him.”He has so much going for him and he wants to improve. He has got better and better each season.
