Marcus Rashford fires Jordan Pickford warning to goalkeeper critics

Marcus Rashford has defended England team-mate Jordan Pickford
Pickford has come in for some stick in the wake of England’s 1-0 defeat to Belgium in the final Group G game in Kaliningrad on Thursday.

Opposite number Thibault Courtois mocked Pickford for failing to stop Adnan Januzaj’s winning shot.

To make matters worse TV pundit Gary Neville claimed he used his ‘wrong hand’ as he dived, while fans took to social media to blast his performance.

But Pickford will keep his place in the team for Tuesday’s crunch last 16 showdown with Colombia in Moscow.

England boss Gareth Southgate has handed Pickford a public vote of confidence and Rashford reckons those criticising the Everton star are talking rubbish.

The Manchester United ace said: “I’ve not seen what he (Courtois) said, but my side of it is that the way he performs and his body, he’s adapted everything to the way he is, physically.

“He’s got himself this far, so I don’t think you can really say that about him.

“He’s a top keeper and there have been plenty of top keepers who have been considered not to be quite big enough compared to other keepers – but it doesn’t really hold them back.”
