Klopp with statement of intent on Salah

Jurgen Klopp insists Mohamed Salah’s new deal at Liverpool can showcase the club as an opportunity for world class players to achieve career ambitions. Salah became the Reds’ joint-highest earner as he put pen to paper on a new five-year contract to quash tenuous rumours linking him to Real Madrid.

It comes on the back of an outstanding season for both Liverpool and Salah himself, with the Egyptian scoring 44-goals in all competitions to win the Premier League Golden Boot and help his side to a Champions League final. For the forward to be propelled into Ballon d’Or contention typifies his unimaginable impression upon his return to English football.

Klopp now believes his show of commitment serves as a sign of the club’s progress and devotion to challenging for silverware.

He told Liverpoolfc.com: “It demonstrates two things very clearly also – his belief in Liverpool and our belief in him.”

“We want world-class talent to see they have a home at Anfield where they can fulfil all their professional dreams and ambitions – we are working hard together to achieve this.”
