England’s probable line up for Colombia tie

England face Colombia on Tuesday night as they battle for a place in the quarter-finals of World Cup 2018. It’s a huge clash with both sides buoyed by the shock exits of Germany, Spain, Portugal, and Argentina, leaving them with an incredible chance of reaching the final on July 15 in Moscow.

Gareth Southgate has done superbly so far with the 1-0 loss to Belgium only a minor blot on the copy book thanks to impressive displays against Tunisia and Panama. His heavily rotated team weren’t at their best but will have given him plenty to think about ahead of a match up against the South Americans, as will the fitness of Dele Alli, who is now in full training after a thigh strain against Tunisia.

With Colombia setting up in a 4-3-2-1 in each of their games so far, but with differing personal, Alli will know he’s going to need to play a little deeper and give his wing-back some protection given Juan Quintero is prone to drifting wide to help his wingers, and particularly the one on the right-flank, who is likely to be Juan Cuadrado. And given Cuadrado is set to start the match, Southgate may also favour playing Tottenham star Danny Rose at left wing-back, who has a little more pace than Ashley Young, although a worse final ball. Below is England”=s most likely line up for this crunch tie.
