Arsenal set for another Bundesliga raid

Max Meyer could be off to Arsenal after the club made an enquiry about the German ace. Meyer is a free agent this summer after letting his contract at Schalke run down. And it’s claimed Arsenal are interested in snapping up the 22-year-old and bringing him to the Premier League. New Gunners boss Unai Emery has already signed one player from the Bundesliga and a second Germany-based player is set to join imminently. Maximilian “Max” Meyer is a German professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder or forward for Schalke 04. He is also capable of playing as a deep-lying playmaker.

Goalkeeper Bernd Leno put pen to paper last month on a deal taking him to north London from Bayer Leverkusen in a deal worth around £20m.  Sokratis Papadopoulos will follow suit from Borussia Dortmund to help bolster Emery’s backline. The £17m deal has been done for weeks and an official announcement over his switch is expected within days. And Meyer could become the third player to swap the Bundeliga for the Emirates
