Premier League duo, Real Madrid keen on Colombia star Juan Fernando Quintero

Colombia international Juan Fernando Quintero has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Premier League duo Tottenham Hotspur and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The 25-year-old midfielder was signed by Portuguese giants Porto in 2013 but has spent the last three years away from the club on loan.

In January 2018, Quintero signed a one-year loan deal with River Plate in Argentina which reportedly did not include a recall clause.

The deal is however believed to include an option to make the deal permanent for a fee of €3.25m (£2.8m) for 80% of the player’s rights, having paid an initial sum of €500,000 (£443,000).

According to Spanish outlet AS, Real Madrid have identified Quintero as a possible replacement for Mateo Kovacic, who has signalled his intention to leave the club this summer.

However, the report also states that Spurs and Wolves have entered the race for the player and have both made contact over a transfer.

Quintero has played in all three of his country’s World Cup games so far, scoring once and registering two assists.
