According to reports in Italy, Manchester City have joined the race to sign Milan defender Leonardo Bonucci. City’s rivals Manchester United have been looking at the Italy international for the last few months as they try to cut the gap between themselves and the Citizens. Bonucci is also wanted by Chelsea as Milan prepare to offload some of their stars after UEFA banned them from European competitions for two years.
The 31-year-old is now considering his options after the ban and Pep Guardiola is desperate to strengthen at the back. Vincent Kompany’s injury problems continue to unsettle the Spaniard and the former Barcelona coach is ready to make his move if Bonucci becomes available for the right price.
