England to face Colombia in Round of 16 at World Cup following Belgium defeat

England will play Colombia in the Round of 16 at the World Cup in Russia.

The Three Lions were defeated 1-0 by Belgium in their final group stage fixture on Thursday evening, as former Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj scored a sublime goal in the second half to make it three wins out of three for the Red Devils.

The result means that England finish on six points and a respectable second-place in Group G, after a 2-1 winagainst Tunisia and a 6-1 thumping against Panama.

Group winners Belgium will face Japan in the first knockout round, followed by a potential clash with Brazil or Mexico in the quarter-finals.

England will play Sweden or Switzerland in the quarter-finals, should they beat Colombia.
