Calum Chambers will sign a new four-year contract with Arsenal after being promised a more prominent role under manager Unai Emery next season, according to BBC Sport. The Club’s new manager is a keen admirer of the 23-year-old who he believes possess huge potential and is hopeful of him challenging for starting-role next season.
Last season, Chambers made just 12 Premier League appearances under Arsene Wenger, however, it is understood that Emery holds the defender in higher esteem.
Following a meeting with the former Paris Saint-Germain coach, Chambers has been convinced to stay and compete for his place in the starting line-up at the Emirates.
Chambers will be up against the likes of Laurent Koscielny, Shkodran Mustafi, Konstantinos Mavropanos, Nacho Monreal and Rob Holding, with Sokratis Papastathopoulos also expected to join the fray.
