Kevin De Bruyne: ‘Belgium calmer than ever’

Belgium midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has said that his teammates are “calmer” after their experiences in the last two major tournaments.

The Red Devils reached the quarter-finals at both the World Cup in 2014 and Euro 2016, before being beaten by Argentina and Wales respectively.

Manchester City man De Bruyne told Sky Sports News that his side have learnt from their past tournament experience and are ready to deliver in Russia.

“We are more calm. Brazil [2014 World Cup] was totally new. The European Championship was also something different,” the 27-year-old said.

“The guys have experience already and know you don’t have to be great in the beginning. It’s all about growing as a team and you need a little bit of luck. The circumstances need to be right.

“It’s just look at the next game, be calm and see what’s going to happen.”

Belgium head into their final Group G game against England having already qualified for the last 16
