Nigerians have reacted to the Super Eagles’ 2 – 1 loss to Argentina in the final Group D match. Argentine Captain, Messi, had put his side ahead with a 14 minutes strike. But, Victor Moses leveled up for the Eagles through a penalty kick six minutes into the second half. However, Rojo gave the South Americans their first win of the tournament with a clinical finish less than 10 mins to the final whistle.
The defeat left the three-time African champions as the third best team in their group, behind Croatia and Argentina but fans across the world have reserved praise for the team’s performance and fighting spirit. but a good number of citizens were either indifferent or positive in spite of the Super Eagles’ exit from the tournament. We must be proud of ourselves & our Super Eagles that we all stuck together in victory & in defeat. The lesson we learn is that we must stick together as one people & one nation despite our various challenges because it is as a unit we can lift ourselves up when we are in crises
