Denmark qualified for the knock-out round of the 2018 FIFA World Cup with after their 0-0 draw against France on Tuesday. The result represents the first goalless game at this year’s World Cup. Despite the criticism regarding the obvious uninteresting nature of the game by neutrals, the Danish press seem not to mind. Here are some of their reactions after the game.

“Red-white triumph” Danish public broadcaster says, somewhat hyperbolically, while also conceding that the 0-0 draw with France amounted to a tame fight. “The number of chances and finishes was as poor as the result”, says Politiken newspaper. “Mission accomplished”, says Jyllands-Posten, independent liberal daily. “The locals got bored, but never mind, the Danes have a World Cup party”.
