Chelsea tables £35m bid for Juventus star

Daniele Rugani is an Italian footballer who plays as a centre back for Serie A club Juventus and the Italy national team.

According to reports, the Blues have submitted a £35million bid for 23-year-old centre-back Daniele Rugani  previously linked with Arsenal – and are readying a double-your-money five-year contract proposal worth in the region of £60,000-per-week having discussed the prospect of his arrival during talks with Sarri’s representative Fali Ramadani.

Rugani has won three successive Serie A titles with Juventus since 2015, but only made 26 appearances across all competitions last term amid fierce competition for places in Turin, with Massimiliano Allegri tending to favour the likes of Giorgio Chiellini, Andrea Barzagli and Medhi Benatia in big matches.

However, he is extremely well known to Sarri, who tried to bring Rugani to Napoli and previously described the defender as a ‘very important player for the future of Italian football’ after handing him his debut during a productive loan spell with Empoli.
