Liverpool release Star

Danny Ings is set to leave  Liverpool in the summer, the club confirms

Despite Jurgen Klopp being keen on keeping the forward, an agreement between Ings and the boss has been reached and he will allow the striker to leave in the summer. The England international has struggled with a knee injury since joining the Anfield side in 2015 from Burnley for a reported fee of  £8m.

The 25-year-old will is set to leave the club this summer in order to secure first-team football despite having two seasons left on his contract. Klopp wants Ings to stay but won’t demand a prohibitive transfer fee. Ings ruptured cruciate ligaments in October 2015, then suffered cartilage damage the following year.

Ings, who has one England caps and scored 43 goals in 130 appearances for Burnley, has been working with a personal fitness trainer throughout the summer
