PSG star offered to Mourinho by agent

Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign Marco Verratti, according to reports. Super-agent Mino Raiola manages Verratti and has sounded out potential suitors this summer. Raiola has close links to United as the agent of Red Devils midfielder Paul Pogba and the man who helped brokered the Frenchman’s club-record transfer to Old Trafford.

Verratti has been at the centre of a transfer storm at Paris Saint-Germain in the past 12 months, with Barcelona believed to have tried to sign the Italian last summer. Reports claim Raiola has moved to shift Verratti again, as the midfielder is more determined than ever to seek out a new challenge. Verratti is valued at around £75million by his club, and would be an expensive purchase for any side.

United have been linked with a move in the past for Verratti, with Mourinho thought to be an admirer. But, the Red Devils have already spent over £50m on a defensive midfielder this summer with the signing of Brazilian Fred. Mourinho may prefer to move onto other targets, with the Portuguese particularly eager to strengthen United’s defence.
